Patient Testimonial: Shoulder Surgery at Newton-Wellesley Hospital

Allan Frankel, 60, suffered from intense shoulder pain after decades of swimming. After CrossFit activities exacerbated the damage to his shoulders, he met with Timothy Foster, MD, Chair of the Department Orthopedics at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Foster recommended a subpectoral biceps tenodesis – a procedure where the diseased portion of the biceps tendon is removed and the attachment of the remaining portion of the tendon is transferred. Allan had his surgery in February 2014 at Newton-Wellesley’s Outpatient Surgery Center. Four months after surgery he returned to CrossFit and a year after surgery he has made a complete recovery and says he has regained his quality of life. More:
